Muscat: Anyone who sells, buys, trades, advertises, or promotes any commodity, product, or service through network or pyramid marketing will be fined OMR 5,000.

 

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (Mo CIIP) issued a ministerial directive prohibiting network or pyramid marketing from selling, buying, trading, advertising, or promoting goods, products, or services.

 

The following was the result of the decision:

 

The second article states that selling, buying, trading, advertising, or promoting any commodity, product, or service through network or pyramid marketing, whether through electronic or non-electronic means, is forbidden.

 

The third item states that anyone who breaches this decision will face an administrative punishment of OMR 5,000, which will be quadrupled if the offense is repeated.

 

Any method used by a provider, advertiser, or promoter to invite a consumer to choose a list of other consumers with the intention of purchasing a commodity or receiving a service in exchange for a benefit obtained by the first consumer and placing them all in a hierarchical or network group with the intention of collecting money from the largest number of s is referred to as network or hierarchical marketing.
